Such an important message to share during #infertilityawarenessweek

Posted @withregram โ€ข @preysmd I spent years believing health was about discipline. Eat clean. Exercise. Stay lean. But when I went through IVF, I realized how little of it was actually in my hands. My body wasnโ€™t something to micromanageโ€”it was something to support, to listen to, to work with instead of constantly trying to โ€œfix.โ€

So if youโ€™re in midlife, struggling with weight, hormones, or just feeling like you donโ€™t recognize yourself anymoreโ€”let this be your permission slip to stop blaming yourself. You are not failing. Your body is not betraying you. Itโ€™s shifting, evolving, adapting. And the best thing you can do? Support itโ€”not fight it.

๐ŸŒฟโœจ Hello, Spring! ๐ŸŒธโ˜€๏ธ

As the wheel of the year turns, we welcome the season of renewal, growth, and light! ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฟ The ancient Celts honored this time with **Ostara**, a festival marking the **Spring Equinox**โ€”a moment of perfect balance between day and night. This sacred time symbolizes fertility, abundance, and new beginnings. ๐Ÿฃ๐ŸŒธ

As the Earth reawakens, so do we! Now is the time to plant seeds (both literal & metaphorical), embrace fresh opportunities, and celebrate the return of warmth and life. ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’

โœจ Ways to honor the season:
๐ŸŒท Spend time in natureโ€”watch the world bloom!
๐Ÿฅš Decorate eggs, an ancient symbol of fertility & rebirth.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Light a candle to welcome the returning sun.
๐ŸŒฟ Cleanse your space & set new intentions.

Spring is here, and magic is in the air! How are you celebrating? ๐ŸŒธโœจ #Ostara #SpringEquinox #HelloSpring

We love this explanation from @esme_bumpsandbirths thank you for this great video!

Posted @withregram โ€ข @esme_bumpsandbirths Waters breaking ๐Ÿ’ฆ Hindwaters vs Forewaters!

Sometimes all the midwife lingo can be a bit confusing so I thought Iโ€™d explain!

Being a midwife I get asked a lot of questions like.. โ€˜when will I knowโ€™ or โ€˜how will I be able to tell if its really my waters?โ€™

So, here are my top tips:
โœจthey donโ€™t always go like in the movies with a huge gush, but if they do, youโ€™ll know!!
โœจ make a note of the time they went
โœจ if youโ€™re unsure if itโ€™s your waters or *a-little-bit-of-wee* pop a big pad on and check it in an hour. If itโ€™s your waters the pad will be wet
โœจ once your waters break they keep trickling until your baby is born
โœจ your waters should be clear or pink in colour. If they look brown/green it may be some meconium (your babyโ€™s first poo) and itโ€™s important to get checked by a midwife
โœจ your waters can break before contractions start, during labour, just before your baby is born, or very rarely theyโ€™re born in their membranes (called en caul)
โœจ if contractions havenโ€™t started, do all the things to get your oxytocin flowing!
โœจ Let your midwife know your waters have gone and theyโ€™ll be able to chat you through the next steps!

Hope youโ€™ve found this helpful. Follow @esme_bumpsandbirths for more birth tips or book onto one of my courses!

A mother simplistically and primitively birthing her baby is the most feared woman in society.
