“Baby without Bankruptcy” the new book by midwife Freya Matal, is one I wish I had during my first pregnancy. This easy-to-read guide offers a clear reference for expectant parents, combining Freya’s extensive experience in midwifery with her insights from antenatal education and parenting support.
The book is packed with invaluable information, highlighting common, unnecessary purchases that many new parents (including myself!) often make. Freya also provides practical and affordable alternatives, together with ideas around creating a ‘Family Mission Statement’, which I particularly loved.
As someone who teaches pre and postnatal classes, I frequently get questions about how families can best prepare for their little one’s arrival. Many topics in Freya’s book parallel our class discussions… I’ve already quoted some of Freya’s tips after finishing her book and I finally have something to refer people to when asked.
