Willow’s Rainbow Box: Real Life Story

“‘I heard about Willow’s Rainbow Box through another charity that I worked closely with during my loss. I applied for a box through the link on the Instagram page. I was very fortunate that at my time of applying, they had just been released for shipping all over England.

The process was very easy to follow, and within a few days, I had received my box. They were also extremely busy with the new shipments to new places, so I was happy when it didn’t take that long. I had already had my 12-week scan by the time I was able to apply for a box, but the card that comes with the box to give to professionals is so good for people who struggle to talk about their loss. I struggled through my pregnancy after loss journey with anxiety and panic attacks, so I used this box alongside professional support – particularly the cards that come with them of support and affirmations. I also started journaling with the journal book, and getting my thoughts down on paper helped. I coloured in the hope rainbow and stuck this in a place I could see it every day. There’s not much support for people who are pregnant after loss, not if you haven’t had 3 losses or more. Without Willow’s Rainbow Box, I feel the impact would have been detrimental. We need these important charities that advocate for so many lost mums. When so many women have been through loss, and this impacts them in later pregnancies, there are not many places to turn. I don’t know how I would feel if I were to get pregnant again, but I know if I need, I have Willow’s Rainbow Box for future support and alleviates a lot of the anxiety to know you are not alone.”
